Meet Our Doctors

Dr. H. Jack Tran is a board-certified dermatologist who is also a scientist and a fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeon.

Dr. Tran grew up in Orange County before heading up to the Bay Area to pursue his undergraduate degree. He received his Bachelor of Science from Stanford University in 3 years with honors. He was one of eight students nationally to be awarded a full-merit based scholarship to attend Harvard Medical School where he earned both an MD and a PhD. While at Harvard, Dr. Tran’s research focused on the genetic mechanism of aging and was published in high-profile journals such as Science.

Dr. Tran did his residency training at New York University and practiced dermatology in the private practice setting in New York City. He also had the opportunity to conduct cancer research at the world-renowned Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Rockefeller University in New York City.

His work there resulted in a ground-breaking paper on melanoma metastasis in the journal "Cell". He continues to keep up-to-date with exciting new breakthroughs in dermatology research as an editor reviewing papers for publication at various journals.

Dr. Tran has been actively involved in skin cancer research as a scientist. But he is one of the rare scientists who also practices what he does research on. He is a fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic and reconstructive surgeon, a type of skin cancer surgery technique that has the highest cure rate.

He has practiced dermatology in the private practice setting in New York City and San Diego before running his office here in Orange County. While in New York City, he performed numerous cosmetic and laser procedures on some of the most discerning clients in the world and has brought his knowledge of aging skin from his research and cosmetic procedures back to California to help his patients here.
